What we believe

Jesus

Jesus was born in a small town roughly 2,000 years ago and lived a relatively quiet life until the age of 30 when He began His public ministry. Over the next three years he preached the gospel and performed miracles, and through this combination of word and works He showed Himself as God on earth.

Jesus’s mission

Jesus came into the world with a mission: to make God known, to bring in God’s kingdom, and to accomplish God’s salvation. He did this through His life of perfect obedience to His Father, His sacrificial death in the place of sinful men and women, and His victorious resurrection from the dead.  Jesus is, therefore, the saviour of all who put their faith in Him.

Jesus’s message

This is good news for a broken world. Jesus has dealt with God’s anger at sin and reconciled us to Himself. He has cleansed us of our guilt and shame, opened the way to eternal life, and He has given us His Holy Spirit to enable us to live for Him. This is the message that the Church has been charged to proclaim through every generation until Jesus returns. On that day all things will be made new.
