Pete is a humanitarian worker who is connected to HBC’s World Focus. After working with Medair in DR Congo for nearly four years, in September 2021 he started a second assignment with Medair in South Sudan. Medair responds to disease outbreaks and population movements arising from conflict or flooding, providing lifesaving services including access to health care, emergency nutrition, and water or sanitation facilities.
In his role as Deputy County Director, Pete serves on the senior leadership team for Medair’s 500-strong staff in South Sudan. His day-to-day work ranges from staff management to strategic planning, coordination with government authorities and other humanitarian organisations, and ensuring safe access to areas reached by Medair’s work.
