Covid safety and FAQ
Sunday gatherings at HBC Chester will look different for a while as we put measures in place to make them COVID secure, so please do read through the following information before attending a Sunday gathering.
✅ We’ll be carrying out Covid secure risk assessments of all events.
✅ We will provide space between families / individuals in our gatherings, to maintain some distancing, and we offer separate seats entirely away from others, for those who want them.
✅ When you arrive there’ll be a team ready to welcome you and to show you where you can sit.
✅ Please use the hand sanitiser available at the entrance.
✅ Don’t forget your face mask. We need to wear face masks while moving around indoors and while singing, although not while seated. If you’ve forgotten yours, we’ll have a few spare which you’ll be able to use.
✅ At the end of the gathering we shall be serving refreshments in the back hall, please wear a face mask as you move around the building but once sat down at a table you can remove the facemask and enjoy your drink.
✅ HBC Kids and Wildfire Youth — We will have provision for children and Youth during our Sunday Gatherings. We will have windows open, if possible, to improve ventilation in all the rooms. We ask that Youth over 11 years old wear masks whilst walking around the building and whilst singing. However they do not have to keep their masks on when in their separate rooms.
✅ Creche (0-2) and HBC Minis (2-4) – at the moment both these groups are “Parental Supervision” and we have a dedicated room set aside for children of this age which can be used as when needed during the Sunday Gathering.
✅ The 2nd Sunday of each month will be an All Age Gathering so we shall stay altogether in the main sanctuary of the church building.
✅ If you have unfortunately tested Covid positive, please follow NHS guidance regarding testing and isolation. We would also love to hear from you so that we can support you, pray for you, and also ensure the safety of others you may have been around at HBC Chester. Please do drop us an email over at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know.
✅ To keep everyone as safe as possible, please do not attend if:
- You’ve tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days.
- Displayed any symptoms of COVID-19 and not yet received a negative PCR test result.
- You have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace and asked to self-isolate.
- You have recently returned from a country outside the UK and need to self-isolate. See international travel regulations here. If you have any questions just drop us a line at email@example.com
Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation. We can’t wait to see you!

HBC is involved in a kingdom alliance with Overflow Church, this involves Paul Stevens being seconded from HBC Chester to be the Pastor of Overflow Church. We love this opportunity to live and express a kingdom heart and we hugely value all the input from HBC Chester. This includes input and oversight from Andy and Sue Glover, leaders of HBC Chester, and support from others including preaching and leading worship. This has been really helpful in building the sense of togetherness across both congregations. Paul is also part of HBC Chester leadership team and plays an active role, including attending various HBC Chester meetings.
See the HBC Facebook page for previous videos and live recordings.
